KayaButter believe that many Penangnites have already known about this burger van. We heard that the Chinese uncle has been selling burger at the same exact spot for around 20 years++. He is famously known as the Uncle Burger, the Chinese Uncle Burger, the Hillside Burger, The Many Onion Burger and so on. KayaButter found out his name at his van and he is actually Mr Wong. 🙂
Today, KayaButter is going to introduce to our readers a local joint for breakfast at Batu Lanchang. KayaButter found out that many of the patrons are working people who come here to have breakfast before going to work. The stall is famous for its kopi, kopi shake, kaya butter toast and nasi lemak. These are the essentials of a typical Malaysian breakfast.
KayaButter is on fire with Perak Road famous food and delicacies. After introducing the all-time famous Kim Leng loh mee, KayaButter are going to introduce another Penang delicacy that is famous among the locals staying in Perak Road area which is Pancake Corner 加料万煎羔.
Today, KayaButter are going to introduce to our readers, the all-time famous Loh Mee in Penang. Loh Mee is a Chinese dish believed to be created by a chef at Hock Choon Kee in Ulu Yam, Selangor. He modified a dish that he had tasted in Singapore many years ago.
Run by 3 brothers and 1 sisters, the COC Spoof burger stall just operated starting in June 2015. They are full of entrepreneurial spirit and creative to use COC as their theme. KayaButter hope that Supercell will be happy that there is a stall in Penang using COC theme and don’t take any legal rights action. 😛 The way the team pair and name the burgers are very matching and KayaButter love it very much! If you are staying or working around Island Glades, then you are in for a treat for your dinner and maybe your loved ones too if they loved fried chicken. 🙂 The stall is manned by a group of young Malays who really know how to cook great fried chicken with special recipe of spices from Kelantan.
This is the stall that Kaya has patronised ever since Kaya is around 10 years old if I am not mistaken. It is very famous among the Georgetown dwellers. Economy char bee hoon which literally translated into fried vermicelli is a dish which some say they will take only when they are very broke yet there are some who really love this dish a lot.
It has been a while that KayaButter paid a visit to our favourite Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee) at the Jelutong Market area at night.
KayaButter goes town area or what the locals used to call Georgetown, Tanjung to buy a new dog food for our Pomeranian, Cupid. The pet supplies shop is located at the corner of Jalan Talipon called Puppy Love Saloon. Too bad that it is closed at the time we reached there, near 8pm. Since we are in town area, we decide to go to Old Green House coffee shop for our favourite bah kut teh aka pork rib soup and chicken porridge.
Finally KayaButter has a chance to try the famous Sungai Dua Fish Meat Bee Hoon. It is because KayaButter’s new shop is located nearby this stall. One of Butter’s friend who stayed near this area introduced us to this stall. It is actually 3-in-1 stall whereby the owners sell Fish Meat Bee Hoon, Tom Yam Noodles and Claypot Bah Kut Teh in one stall. This is our 1st time encountering such a stall. Haha 🙂
