As the craze for fish based steamboats slowly subsides, another new trend is on the rise. Hou Mei Wo Steamboat that originates from Ipoh, introduces Pork Bone Steamboat! They started with the 1st branch at Elit Avenue, Bayan Lepas and now they are opening their 2nd branch at town area which is at Lorong Selamat. They are somewhere near to the end of Lorong Selamat, opposite the low cost flats and on your left side.
KayaButter believe that many Penangnites have already known about this burger van. We heard that the Chinese uncle has been selling burger at the same exact spot for around 20 years++. He is famously known as the Uncle Burger, the Chinese Uncle Burger, the Hillside Burger, The Many Onion Burger and so on. KayaButter found out his name at his van and he is actually Mr Wong. 🙂
KayaButter is on fire with Perak Road famous food and delicacies. After introducing the all-time famous Kim Leng loh mee, KayaButter are going to introduce another Penang delicacy that is famous among the locals staying in Perak Road area which is Pancake Corner 加料万煎羔.
Run by 3 brothers and 1 sisters, the COC Spoof burger stall just operated starting in June 2015. They are full of entrepreneurial spirit and creative to use COC as their theme. KayaButter hope that Supercell will be happy that there is a stall in Penang using COC theme and don’t take any legal rights action. 😛 The way the team pair and name the burgers are very matching and KayaButter love it very much! If you are staying or working around Island Glades, then you are in for a treat for your dinner and maybe your loved ones too if they loved fried chicken. 🙂 The stall is manned by a group of young Malays who really know how to cook great fried chicken with special recipe of spices from Kelantan.
It’s Sunday and KayaButter takes this opportunity to visit the famous Batu Ferringhi Starbucks Coffee. KayaButter have seen many photos that have been shared in our Facebook about this Starbucks Coffee.
This is the stall that Kaya has patronised ever since Kaya is around 10 years old if I am not mistaken. It is very famous among the Georgetown dwellers. Economy char bee hoon which literally translated into fried vermicelli is a dish which some say they will take only when they are very broke yet there are some who really love this dish a lot.

Penangnites are blessed to have another big name in the international F&B industry coming to open their 1st overseas branch in Southeast Asia. Using a simple name, Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop or more commonly known as 正斗 among its patrons, many shoppers will mistake it as another simple and normal-looking Chinese restaurant. It is actually a recipient of Michelin one star and also Bib Gourmand (this award is for restaurants that offer exceptional good food at reasonable prices) for 7 freaking consecutive years, 2009 – 2015, to be exact. It looks like the cafe craze is far from over for Penangnites. Another themed cafe sprung out in Nagore Square that focuses on something that is very very important in our lives, MONEY! 🙂 The bosses came up with the Money Houz idea as money is something everyone can relate to. The bosses even believe that if you are having some problem with your $$$, you are encouraged to come over to Money Houz to absorb the ‘qi’ which means hidden power from its cafe to enhance your money power! 😛
