A new restaurant has taken over the shophouse that previously houses Money Houz which KayaButter blogged about last time. Two of the owners of Money Houz remained and they reopened the restaurant as Asam Belai. You will find some of the previous design and decoration in the shophouse. The most prominent change will be the signboard which says ‘Asam Belai, seafood in the pot’ for now. This is their 2nd branch as the main branch is somewhere in Jelutong market area
Coffee Stall No. 76 Kaya Butter Toast & Nasi Lemak & Kopi Peng @ Batu Lanchang Market Food Court, Penang
Today, KayaButter is going to introduce to our readers a local joint for breakfast at Batu Lanchang. KayaButter found out that many of the patrons are working people who come here to have breakfast before going to work. The stall is famous for its kopi, kopi shake, kaya butter toast and nasi lemak. These are the essentials of a typical Malaysian breakfast.

Today, KayaButter are going to introduce to our readers, the all-time famous Loh Mee in Penang. Loh Mee is a Chinese dish believed to be created by a chef at Hock Choon Kee in Ulu Yam, Selangor. He modified a dish that he had tasted in Singapore many years ago.

Penangnites are blessed to have another big name in the international F&B industry coming to open their 1st overseas branch in Southeast Asia. Using a simple name, Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop or more commonly known as 正斗 among its patrons, many shoppers will mistake it as another simple and normal-looking Chinese restaurant. It is actually a recipient of Michelin one star and also Bib Gourmand (this award is for restaurants that offer exceptional good food at reasonable prices) for 7 freaking consecutive years, 2009 – 2015, to be exact. Money Houz @ Nagore Square, Georgetown, Penang!
It looks like the cafe craze is far from over for Penangnites. Another themed cafe sprung out in Nagore Square that focuses on something that is very very important in our lives, MONEY! 🙂 The bosses came up with the Money Houz idea as money is something everyone can relate to. The bosses even believe that if you are having some problem with your $$$, you are encouraged to come over to Money Houz to absorb the ‘qi’ which means hidden power from its cafe to enhance your money power! 😛
